What Is a Resume?
A resume is a summary of what you can bring to your prospective employer based on your past experience and accomplishments.  It is a self-promotional document that presents you in the best light possible.  Your future employer knows that you have a direct interest in the outcome of the job application process and he’s fine with that.  He’s just waiting for you to show him what you’ve got.   

What Is the Purpose of a Resume?
The purpose of a resume is to land you an interview.  You won’t get an offer of employment with your resume.  A good resume will lay the foundation for a good interview.
