What Is an Interview?
An interview is an opportunity for candidates and employers to meet and see if there is a good fit.  An interview is also a learning process to critically evaluate your performance and determine how you can improve your interview skills.  It is important to keep in mind that interviewing involves a mutual exchange of information, rather than an inquisition or interrogation.  This is your best opportunity to evaluate the organization and the position.  As a two-way process, the interview can be informative and productive for both parties.

What Is the Purpose of an Interview?
The interview process provides you with the opportunity to show that you are the right fit for the job.  The interview gives you the chance to expand on the information provided in your resume and to gather additional information on the position and organization.

The goal of the job interview is to show the employer that you have the skills, background, and ability to do the job and that you can successfully fit into the organization and its culture.  Remember, the job interview is a communication process.  It is important that you can show the employer how you can be an asset to the organization.
